How to Have Fun at Smaller Theme Parks

Sometimes theme park enthusiasts find it difficult to just enjoy a day out, especially at a smaller park where the standards of rides aren’t up to those of bigger parks. So here is a few quick tips to help you make the most of those days out.
- Forget about your favourite parks and stop comparing every other park to those, because they will never live up to it and you will find yourself moaning about every little imperfection there.
- Realise what you go to theme parks for, which for most people is to have fun on new rides that the bigger parks might not necessarily have.
- Look at the positives and think about what the park has to offer. Is it a unique ride? Shorter queues? Friendlier staff maybe? Even the smallest of parks have good things about them.
- Act your shoe size, not your age! You’re at a theme park, let your hair down, stop being serious and relive your childhood. You will have a thousand times more fun!
This article was inspired by our day out at Lightwater Valley, which is a small park in North Yorkshire, UK. Do you want to know how we made it fun? See for yourself:

Ewan’s train commentary was hilarious. The fact he would even consider doing that makes me laugh! Crazy guy!
